Larry Legend Shows That Small Town Politeness

Accoding to Indy Cornrows Pacers GM, Larry Bird, went on 1070 The Fan and dropped the following gem of kindness.

The direction we're going, we don't have any interest in Zach, even though I like him as a person, he's a good player but that's not the direction we want to go. We've talked to every team in the league just to see what's going on out there. You know, we played the other night, Jermaine and Isiah are good friends and that's how all that stuff got started.

Larry when you say not the direction we want to go. Are you referring to not wanting to be wieghed DOWN, in the standings or did you mean more along the lines of not wanting to expand OUTWARD like Randolphs evergrowing waistline.

Larry went ahead and finished this one off with this gem Jermaine and Isiah are good friends and that's how all that stuff started Translation: Just because Isiah is willing to give ridiculous contracts to all of his friends does not mean I am about to take on the wieght around the neck that is Zach Randolph.

Also I can't let a Randolph related article go without passing on this glimpse into the mind of the biggest disappointment in the eastern conference. When asked about his upcoming return to Portland earlier this season. Randolph showed how much he worries about what the fans think

Stephon Marbury Surgically removed from the Knicks.

Now that the doctors for the New York Knicks, have removed the chippyness that is Stephon Marbury from their team. I wonder if they will send him out for biopsy. Lord knows he coudl have been a cancer.

If they could just figure out a way to make the Eddy Curryitis go down. That particular affliction is making all the Knicks heads swell to the point that Isiah Thomas will make statements like "we are a playoff team".

Next they could address that bloated Zach Randolph feeling. Since that feeling seems to be holding them back. Well that and the Heartectomy that the entire team seems to have gone through.

Heat reach lucky number 13 AGAINST THE KNICKS

I covered the Heat spiraling out of control in this post. I wont go re-rant on all that I have covered there. However I must say this is just ridiculous. 13 in a row? Against the Knicks? I would have been less surprised if the Heat team that one the championship had lost to these Knicks. At least then we could have looked to the playing down to your competition, or underestimating your opponent angle. I just don't see what the justification is.
Part of their performance comes down to leadership. I appreciate the fact the Dwaaaaaaaayne Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaade (you don't get announcer voice 'til you start winning again)Dwayne Wade is not 100% recovered from his shoulder injury. But you know what I don't want to hear out of my leaders mouth "Just our luck, man," Wade said. "The ball bounced. That's been our season, been our luck." Wade said this referring to a ball that got away from him and Udonis Haslem to be rebounded by David Lee.
I am sorry, what!? Don't give me luck. Don't tell me about how the ball bounced. I wanna hear that from the guy in the third row. Fans get to pull the luck card. But I am thinking guys like Chris Quinn and Dorell Wright need a little stronger message from the Captain than that.

NBA Rumor Mill

So let's play make believe. Let's pretend that we are very concerned about Rajon Rondo's back, not his inability to stop a bigger guard. Let's pretend that all is fine in Shamrock land. Let's pretend the games against Detroit are concerning. Let's act like we are fine being a three deep team, and we haven't noticed the signicant drop off in back-to-back games.
Reality Check. Rondo can't guard a big point man. If the Celtics were to bring in another guard, it would be partially to insure Rondo'sinjury but it would also be to solove the Chuancy Billups Big guard problem.There are really only two considerations here, well maybe three.
First lets look at least likely. Stephon Marbury. Ok he has been a grease fire in New York. This situation couldn't have gone worse. But he was successful in Minnesota, with Garnett reigning him in. He is a physical guard and could work. In all reality though as big a mess as this guy is, he just announced he will miss the remainder of the season with an ankle problem. He can't be foolish enough to comeback if a trade is on the table. Right? I mean Right? then again who comes out and says that he has dirt on his head coach.
Damon Stoudemire. Are you kidding me, available doesn't mean appropriate. I mean nobody with a mighty mouse tatoo is getting brought in to guard Billups.
Now to the real possibility. Sam Cassell, I didn't really like this option purely because I didn't see the Clippers giving him up but they aren't doing anybetter with him in than when they were using Brevin Knight to replace him. They also will have somewhat of a log jam at the point once Sean Livingston retruns(current rumors have him returning sometime after the All-Star break). There is also the fact that Cassell and Garnett had a great relationship in Minnesota, as well as the fact he is a bigger Point who can defend Billups, as well as provide veteran leadership on a team pushing toward the playoffs. Don't forget Cassell has won it all before.
I like Cassell as the most likely option but I also think it really depends on Livingstons progress.

The REAL reason the Knicks are winning

You may have noticed that the Knicks have all of a sudden come together. They have won three in a row for the first time this weekend. It really isn’t as complicated to figure out as you might believe.
Jamal Crawford’s has the worlds largest bandage on his shoulder. Obviously they have taken Isaiah’s soul (which is clearly worthless now that he has sold it, in order to keep that Knicks coaching gig) and injected it into Crawford through his shoulder.

Minnesota Vikings Offseason

Minnesota Vikings – The Vikings have not had a prolific receiver since losing Moss. In addition to their obvious needs at WR they need to shore up their secondary. The Vikings had the best rush defense in the league but even with that forcing the opposing quarterback to throw they managed to be the dead last passing offense. This is a very shallow draft for wide receivers. Malcolm Kelly and Desean Jackson are the only ones that I see as first round worthy. Kelly may be gone by the time the Vikings make their pick, however I think Jackson could still be available at this point. I also think that Jackson will actually end up being the best receiver in this class. If both of them are gone by this point, I think they should look at getting trading down to get Aqib Talib or Leodis Mckelvin towards the end of the draft as well as getting a possible third round pick. The possibility exists that Mike Jenkins of South Florida would be available at this point but I think it is very risky taking a guy who didn’t really play a lot of big time competition in the first round. I can’t let the draft pass without thinking of the past. Mike Lynn definitely hurt the team with the Herschel Walker deal, which I like to refer to as the original Ricky Williams deal. I also think of the good years the Randy Moss at #21. As I looked back I came across Korey Stringers name. Just a nod to the man and his family.
